River Island tasked Biglight with launching their brand new affiliate program. As a manager at the Biglight agency it was my job to look at the strategy of the account and create a hitlist of publishers to recruit. We knew there would be a high demand to join, but River Island were very keen to steadily grow the program rather than allow large numbers immediately. Without cashback or discount partners the brand chose Biglight because of our content focus. We had built up a strong relationship with numerous partners, so were able to call on these to join the program as our VIP partners.
Key to growing the program and keeping the engagement of publishers high, alongside competitor commission rates, was ensuring we worked with the PR team to create content that publishers could repurpose on their sites.
After we had shown the success of the new program in the UK, we then expanded our efforts into the US and FR markets.
